What to Expect

The San Juan mountains around Silverton have a wide variety of backcountry terrain. From min-golf riding around the Cement Creek zone to big mountain lines off King Solomon and Kendall Mountain when conditions allow.

With a good variety of options your guide will select terrain best suited to your skill level and the avalanche conditions. Generally in early season this may be lower angle powder in the trees and open bowls while later in the spring steeper couloirs and faces may be reasonably safe to access.

Individual climbing equipment (harness, helmet, boots, and belay devices).
Guide with AMGA Training and Certification for skiing and instruction.
