What to Expect

While primarily known for the ice climbing there is a good amount of backcountry skiing and riding available for this San Juan mountain area.

Areas of old mining claims along Red Mountain Pass have several opportunities for beginner backcountry tours as well as more advanced tours to the summit of Red 3 that link into more extensive terrain on the Cement Creek side.

Individual avalanche equipment (beacon, shovel, probe).
Individual climbing equipment (harness, helmet, boots, and belay devices).
Guide with AMGA Training and Certification for skiing and instruction.
