What to Expect

Colorado is an amazing location for ice climbing. Ascending something as ephemeral as a frozen waterfall seems improbable to say the least. The rhythm and technique developed with experienced guides allow you to climb year round. With amazing locations in the San Juans near Lake City like the ice park or large backcountry climbs to some of the less committing venues for those climbing in the Front Range there is something for everyone. From the first swing of the tool climbers can progress from simple introductions to all the gear like how to use crampons and ice tools to more advanced climbs such as multi-pitch climbs like The Sherman Route or challenging mixed and alpine climbs.
