Grand Junction Half Day Climb
Ages 8+ • Up to 12 People • 4 Hours
What to Expect
Grand Junction is the biggest city on the Western Slope and gateway to the desert. As the start of the Colorado Plateau this is where you'll start to feel that extra dryness that we like for climbing.
Choose between these amazing locations:
- Unaweep Canyon: a stunning granite canyon from the Ute language which means "canyon of divided waters" because the river flows in two directions. With 500' granite walls it's a great place in the cooler months and a good spot to work up towards climbing in The Black Canyon
- Colorado National Monument: a sandstone area full of canyons and mesas this stunning National Monument offers a variety of crack and slab climbs. For those looking to challenge themselves the historic Independence Tower is a great intro to desert towers. CO National Monument is sandstone and requires at least 24-48 hours after any significant rain to avoid damaging the rock or increased safety risks
Includes
- Group climbing equipment (ropes, carabiners, etc).
- Individual climbing equipment (harness, helmet, climbing shoes, and belay devices).
- Guide with AMGA Training and Certification for climbing and instruction.
