Colorado Springs Regular Climb
Ages 8+ • Up to 12 People • 6 Hours
What to Expect
Colorado Springs is the second biggest city and features most of the soft sandstone areas. It's also not far from the Denver area.
Choose between these amazing locations:
- Garden of the Gods: beautiful red sandstone with the blue sky backdrop makes it an eyeful. The climbing is pretty awesome as well. A variety of interesting features with pockets and cracks that create unique movement. Garden of the Gods is sandstone and requires at least 24-48 hours after any significant rain to avoid damaging the rock or increased safety risks
- Cheyenne Canyon: a bit of a locals spot this is our backup location if the sandstone is too wet. Because of the deep forest and north facing climbs it's a great spot to avoid the heat as well.
- Red Rock Canyon: a quite local park with a wide variety of shorter slab climbs. Although formed the same way as The Garden the features are much less prominent. Red Rocks is sandstone and requires at least 24-48 hours after any significant rain to avoid damaging the rock or increased safety risks
- Shelf Road: A bit south of The Springs near Cañon City this limestone crag is a world class destination for the sport climber. Best in the cooler months there are a variety of climbs from easier slabs to steep overhanging pocketed roofs to challenge the hardest climber.
