Colorado National Monument is one of the hidden gems of the National Park system. Frequented by bighorn sheep and enjoyed for it's accessibility the big climb to go for is Independence Tower!
Choose between these classic climbs
- Independence Monument (5.9): With a gorgeous hike in you can barely see it until you round the corner. Standing a bit over 400' tall this historic climb was first ascended on July 4th 1911 in a flag raising tradition that stands to this day. As one of the easier desert towers this is a great one to summit for the views as well as the history.
