What to Expect
Take in sweeping mountain views aboard Mt. Baldy’s scenic chairlifts. Chair #1, the Sugar Pine Chair Lift, connects the Base Area with Top of the Notch at 7,800 feet, with a ride of approximately 20 minutes. From Top of the Notch, guests can enjoy the mountain recreation area, access hiking trails, or continue higher on Chair #4 (subject to availability) to approximately 8,600 feet near the Devil’s Backbone trailhead.
Choose a One-Way Scenic Ride for a single ride, perfect for pairing with a hike. Choose a Round-Trip Scenic Ride for greater flexibility to explore the mountain by lift.

Restrictions
- Animals are not permitted on the chairlift
- Only one carry-along item is permitted per rider
- Loose clothing and belongings must be secured
- No bouncing, swinging, or horseplay
- No ice chests
- No strollers
- No sleds
- No firearms, fireworks, or weapons
- No drugs or alcohol
- Hiking is not permitted during alpine conditions
- Alpine equipment, bikes, camping gear, and oversized items may require separate or appropriate lift access
