Día de los Muertos
A Celebratory Ceremony & Ofrenda Creation Experience at the Farm
What to Expect
On the evening of Día de los Muertos, come together in community to hold space to remember those you’ve lost from this world by connecting with them in the next. This is a time of the in-between, where the veil is thin and we have the opportunity to share our stories of those who have passed on.
You’ll have an opportunity to learn more about the history of Día de los Muertos and how it connects to Samhain and All Souls' Day. We’ll also explore how dreams can be our greatest allies in the journey of grief and acceptance of death.
Bring your favorite copies of photos of anyone dear to you – human or animal - and be prepared to create an “Ofrenda” or personal altar, to tell their story. By using art and collage, you’ll build a physical story of their energy and essence and (if you choose) have a chance to share what you create alongside a story of loved ones past with your community for the evening. We’ll close out with a reception to continue to honor and celebrate. Perhaps you’ll leave with a newfound viewpoint and appreciation of the journey of grief, death and the journey beyond and the reminder that this life is just the beginning.
