Pattern Bars & Stringer Sheets - Day 1: Design and Construction
Ages 12 • 2 Day Class - Intermediate - Making 2 projects
What to Expect
Take your fused glass skills to the next level as you explore two exciting techniques: pattern bars and stringer sheets.
During this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how pattern bars are designed, assembled and prepared for kiln firing. You’ll explore different pattern possibilities, discover how color placement affects the finished design, and construct your own pattern bar.
You’ll also receive an introduction to stringer sheets, including examples of the many ways they can be used in fused glass art. Then you’ll design and build your own stringer sheet using thin glass stringers arranged into your own project, incorporating sheet glass, if desired.
Both pieces will be kiln-fired after class and prepared for use during Day 2.
This is an advanced workshop. Completion of our Introduction to Fused Glass class is required before attending.
