What to Expect
You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your Open Water Diver certification.
About
This program allows you to experience five different open water dives. Of the five dives, two of the dives are required, Deep and Navigation. During the Deep Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time. Your three remaining dives could include Peak Performance Buoyancy, Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV), Dry Suit, Fish Identification, Search & Recovery, Wreck Diver and Underwater Videographer, also included in the course.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the Advanced Open Water certification, a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver Course.

PLEASE NOTE: Dry Suits and GoPro's are not included in the Advanced Open Water Course.

Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION POLICY: DIVING CATALINA REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 14 DAYS NOTIFICATION FOR ALL CANCELLATIONS FROM THE START DATE OF THE CLASS. ONCE IT BECOMES WITHIN 14 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR START DATE, YOU BECOME FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CHARGES AND NO REFUND IS GRANTED. ANYONE WHO FAILS TO SHOW WILL BE CHARGED IN FULL.
nWhat if I need to reschedule?
nFor the protection of your reservation, all changes must be submitted by email. Simply reply to your original confirmation email and request the necessary changes. Changes will not be accepted over the phone.
nDiving Catalina will reschedule or refund your class more than 14 days prior to the original class start date at no charge.

Within 14 days of the class start date, the transfer fee will be 25% of the full Internet class tuition. There are NO REFUNDS for class tuition within 14 days of the class start date.

If you are going to miss any of your scheduled class dates you will need to contact [email protected] and have those portions of the class made up privately at an additional charge.

What if I show up for my dive and my instructor insists on not taking me?
nThe reason you are being denied is due to a medical, safety, or legal issue. All issues must be handled prior to arriving on Catalina. NO REFUNDS will be given.
