What to Expect
What to Expect on Your Guided Snorkeling Tour
You MUST be able to swim
Arrive at the shop 15 minutes before the tour to sign waivers.
Before you enter the water
Your professional guide will get you fitted with your mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit, all included with your tour. You'll receive an introduction to your equipment, basic snorkeling techniques and important safety information before entering the water from shore
Your snorkeling adventure
Once you're comfortable, your guide will lead you to the world-famous Casino Point Dive Park, designed in 1962 and help you explore Catalina's famous kelp forest with in the Marine protected preserve.
Your Guided Snorkel Eco Adventure takes place at the beautiful Casino Dive Park; a protected marine area filled with kelp forests and an amazing variety of marine life.
Marine-life sightings are never guaranteed—that's part of exploring a natural environment—but your guide knows the area and will help point out interesting animals along the way.
Keep your eyes open for:
Bright orange Garibaldi
Calico bass and California sheephead
Schools of colorful fish
Rays and other marine life
Catalina's impressive giant black sea bass
And maybe even a curious sea lion!
No previous snorkeling experience is necessary. You do need to know how to swim and be comfortable in deep water. The minimum age for the guided tour is 8 years old.
Allow approximately 1½–2 hours for the complete experience, including getting ready, your briefing and time exploring the water.
