This immersive 5-day, all-inclusive Learn to Sail vacation combines ASA 103 – Basic Coastal Cruising, ASA 104 – Bareboat Cruising, and ASA 114 – Cruising Catamaran into one exciting liveaboard experience. It’s ideal for newer sailors ready to build their skills and confidence, as well as experienced sailors looking to earn the credentials needed for future bareboat charters.

For five days, you’ll live aboard a cruising catamaran and put your skills into practice as you sail southwest to beautiful Catalina Island. Rather than simply learning in a classroom, you’ll experience life underway—planning passages, navigating, handling sails, maneuvering the boat, anchoring, docking, and learning the systems and techniques involved in safely cruising a modern catamaran.

Along the way, you’ll complete all three courses while enjoying the camaraderie, scenery, and adventure of a true sailing vacation.

By the end of your five-day journey, you’ll have gained valuable hands-on experience, greater confidence at the helm, and the knowledge and certifications to take the next step toward chartering a boat and pursuing your own sailing adventures.

COVERS ASA 103, 104 & 114 CERTIFICATIONS

Upon successful completion of the course, you will have the skills and knowledge to skipper an auxiliary-powered cruising catamaran approximately 40–45 feet in length on a multi-day liveaboard cruise in inland or coastal waters, including moderate to heavy winds of up to 30 knots and corresponding sea conditions.

You’ll develop a working knowledge of catamaran design and components, vessel systems, sailing and power performance, seamanship and safety, heavy-weather operations, and emergency procedures—giving you greater confidence and capability for future cruising and bareboat charter adventures.
