A bareboat charter is a rental arrangement where the charterer leases an entire vessel for up to 12 passengers without a crew, provisions, or operational supplies provided by the owner. The charterer assumes full responsibility for operating and maintaining the vessel, including hiring a captain and crew if needed. This type of charter offers flexibility and is popular among experienced sailors or groups seeking a more private and customized boating experience.
Rules for renting and operating the boat apply, as follows:
- Valid USCG license required unless hiring a licensed captain.
- Licensed captains available upon request at $125/hr (paid directly by charterer).
