Owl Handling Experience
Family Friendly! • 90 Minutes • Up-Close Owl Handling!
What to Expect
Meet ambassador owls up close in a dedicated falconry handling session that focuses on safe, respectful interaction rather than flight demonstrations. Guests learn to wear and use a falconry glove while hearing about owl biology—from exceptional hearing to ultra-light feathers—and regional species found in San Diego County. The experience emphasizes conservation and simple actions visitors can take to protect owls, presented in a relaxed, educational setting with knowledgeable staff.
Includes
Owl glove handling experience
Instruction on proper falconry glove use
Interaction with ambassador owls (species may vary)
Educational discussion on owl adaptations and conservation
Restrictions
Due to the nature of our Experiences, there are minimum age restrictions for the safety of both humans and birds and comfort of other visitors.
All experiences with free flying owls and birds of prey to-and-from guests' gloves require children to be 9 years of age or older. Younger children are not recommended on Experiences without customization, as they can disrupt the free flying birds and their training.
Customized Experiences are available for guests wanting something different or to accommodate young children and special events. Please contact us for details.
