Point of Arches

Perfect for families, this 3-day adventure offers a blend of culture,= nature, and gentle hiking along one of Washington’s most beautiful coastlines. We begin in Tacoma, traveling to Neah Bay for a stop at the Makah Cultural & Research Center, where interactive exhibits introduce the rich history of the Makah Tribe. From there, a manageable hike through coastal forest leads to Shi Shi Beach, where we set up camp just steps from the ocean. Day two is spent exploring the nearby Point of Arches, a playground of tide pools, sandy stretches, and dramatic sea stacks. At low tide, starfish, anemones, and crabs delight us, while scenic overlooks provide perfect photo spots for the whole family. On the final morning, we hike back to the trailhead and return to Tacoma, bringing home unforgettable memories of ocean sunsets, campfire stories, and quality time together.
