Experience the best of our Olympic National Park Backpacking Tours on this lifetime adventure to the Enchanted Valley. Our four or five day guided backpacking tour to the Enchanted Valley in Olympic National Park takes you deep into one of the Pacific Northwest’s most awe-inspiring landscapes. Starting from the East Fork Quinault River trailhead, you’ll follow a well-maintained path through lush, old-growth rainforest, where towering cedars and moss-draped trees create a cathedral-like atmosphere. The air is thick with the scent of earth and pine, and the sound of rushing streams and birdsong fills the air.

As you climb, the dense forest gradually gives way to open meadows and the first glimpses of the dramatic peaks of the Olympic Mountains. As we progress through the forest, the valley narrows, and the river widens, cascading through crystal-clear pools and over smooth rocks. You’ll cross the Quinault River several times on sturdy bridges or rock-hopping in low-water sections.

By day 2, you’ll arrive at the Enchanted Valley, where towering cliffs surround a lush green expanse of meadows and wildflowers. Massive waterfalls, some more than 1,000 feet tall, spill down the cliffs, their roar filling the air. Black bears, elk, and deer are often spotted grazing in the meadows, and the skies above are filled with eagles and osprey. As night falls, the stars emerge in a stunning display, with the distant peaks framing the scene.

The sense of peace and isolation in the valley is palpable, a place where the modern world feels far away. Each step in this ancient wilderness is a reminder of nature’s untamed beauty and power.

For the most adventurous of hikers, we have the option to do the hike over 5 days. On the additional day, we will embark on a heart pounding hike up to Anderson Pass for breath-taking views of the surrounding Olympic Mountains and National Park.
