What to Expect

Climb up the rewarding Mount Marathon Jeep Trail to emerge into a bowl immersed in lush greenery and steep peaks. While at times challenging, you will earn an outstanding view of Seward and Resurrection Bay.

Along the hike, learn the history of the famous Mount Marathon Race from a yearly racer, the history of the town of Seward, and information on the animals and plants you may spot along the way.

From the Bowl, branch off to the steeper ridgeline climb to the summit of the famous race trail.
